Dash lay semi-conscious somewhere in the middle of the spine. He also appeared to be experiencing delusions—most likely from having sniffed too much glue.
Hyphen thought it quite a miracle that Dash managed to stay up there in his semi-conscious state. Then again, the remnants of glue all around him made it probable he had mistakenly stuck himself to the spine.
The wizened, bedraggled Dash was Hyphen’s younger brother, although one would never know it from looking at them. Whereas Hyphen was solid and quite beefy, Dash was thin, frail really. Although he was more than double Hyphen’s horizontal length, he was less than half his height. He was so withered that one would be hard-pressed to call him three-dimensional. He was on the verge of wilting into a different shape altogether.
