Comma

Comma gawked at the mammoth book. They had bound the pages even before printing the words. Such a technique was unheard of in Grammar.

“Why would he bind the pages before printing the words? How could he know how many pages he needs? It makes no sense,” Quotes said, confused.

“It makes perfect sense,” Comma contradicted. “He already knows which words and Marks he plans to use.”

“What will happen to the rest?”

“Extinction, I expect,” said Comma. “You were right,” she said, turning to Hyphen. “Get your shredders out. We need to destroy this dictionary now. I shall go in first and slice each page from the spine. Hyphen, you follow. Slice the pages vertically. Quotes, slice across.”

Comma stepped forward determinedly.
